Raleigh has a very good reputation for businesses, which is the reason why it was ranked by Forbes back in 2015 in the list of best place for businesses and careers. Companies based in Raleigh are very popular.
This place has tons of other names and mentions like, America's Best Places to Live: #1 (Businessweek.com, June 2011), Top 10 Best Cities for Educated Workers: #5 (Raleigh-Cary, NC)(247WallSt.com, September 2011), Fastest Growing Cities for Technology Jobs: #1 (Dice, March 2012), among other important titles.
Once you are here, you can enjoy tons of very fun and varied activities. Here is a list of our personal recommendations in case you are planning a trip:
Visit the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences for a fun lesson that you will never forget. This place is North Carolina’s most visited museum with one of the State’s most iconic landmarks—the SECU Daily Planet. This museum is the largest institution of its kind in the Southeast and one of the nation’s most amazing museums about the natural world. You will have the chance to learn about animals and their habitats and explore through several exhibits where you will touch the bones of a whale, sit in the center of the Universe, and explore a world of wonder.
For a little bit of history, you can visit Mordecai Park, a place that was once the site of the largest plantation in Wake County. Tours of the Mordecai house and outbuildings are offered at the top of the hour.
If you have kids, a visit to the Marbles Kids Museum might be the perfect activity. Here, kids are encouraged to use their marbles (brains) to learn new things through imagination, discovery, and play.
For a more adventurous and nature-related plan, you can schedule a visit to the Pullen Park. Did you know that this was the very first public park in North Carolina? It is also known for being the 5th oldest operating amusement park in the US and 16th oldest in the world. They also have an amusement park filled with attractions for kids and grown-ups. Have a blast on the pedal-boats, the carousel, take a ride on their train, and enjoy a play at the kid's amphitheater.
