노스캐롤라이나주의 도시 Charlotte 시는 한글로는 샬롯 이라고 주로 표기하지만 영문 공식 표기법에 따라 샬럿 또는 샬로트 라고 표기되기도 한다.

This is one of the nation’s largest and most successful cities in the South. The population and the investment of tons of businesses made this place a very dynamic urban area.

Charlotte has cold winters, but the city is not quite prepared for so much snow. If it gets too snowy, it is very probable that all local business will be closed, schools will suspend their classes, and the roads will be completely free.

There is one good thing about Charlotte and it’s the fact that most of the attractions in the city can be reached by walking. Pedestrians will be happy here. If you are planning to go for a walk, you must check the weather first. Remember that the summer days in the south can be extremely hot.

You can rent a car or bring your own. The suburbs and other parts of the city are areas in which you'll need four wheels.

Things to do in Charlotte:

Take a super interesting tour and travel through time at the Historic Latta Plantation. Start your tour with a video, then go for a guided tour of the plantation home, and end your visit with a walk through the grounds. The Latta Plantation is a cotton plantation from 1800 that has a lot of history. Over the years, it has been the home for many important families. The first ones to live here were the Latta family, which is where the name comes from. Today they have real farm animals and offer different educational options to keep its history alive.

If you want to fully experience Charlotte from head to toes, then we recommend you visit a tour company. Most offer a complete service and they will tell you about the history of this old city, even if the stories involve some ghostly tales. They have all types of transportations for you: all from a Segway, to a bike, to vans, or even walking tours.

The Mint Museum offers Contemporary Art, American Art, European Painting, and the Mint Museum of Craft + Design. It's a place you can't miss if you are into art.

Discovery Place is without a doubt one of the nation's most acclaimed children's museums. The lessons focus mainly on science you can do all sorts of things like a step into the rainforest, see and feel the fish, watch a hydrogen balloon explode, and see a frozen banana hammer.

Auto racing fans will have to visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which honors those NASCAR drivers, as well as crew chiefs and owners. North Carolina has provided more than its share of famous drivers and many of the teams are headquartered in the state. The building contains 4 floors of NASCAR history, including a theater and numerous large video screens, vintage racing cars, other artifacts and memorabilia from the sport, and a 5,800-sq. ft. gift shop.
