텍사스 주의 도시 Plano 시는 한글로는 주로 플레이노 라고 널리 표기하지만 발음에 따라 플래이노 라고 표기되기도 한다.

During the decade of the 80's, tons of large and important corporations started to move to the area and encouraged local growth. You could say that Plano was a late-bloomer. But unfortunately, the 80's were followed by the 90's and an epidemic of drug abuse in the zone. This damaged a lot of young people.

Along with Houston, Plano is one of the cities with a major concentration of Chinese Americans. The 2010 U.S. Census stated that there were 14,500 ethnic Chinese in Plano. This Oriental mass of immigrations started back in 1991 and if you visit Plano you will surely delight your palate with this exquisite gastronomy by tasting the finest plates from Chinese cuisine.

Plano means "flat" in Spanish, this is a word that refers to the local geography. Although it has tons of flat plains there are tons of parks in the city.

The two main open space preserves are Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve. If you visit during September, you will be able to enjoy a true spectacle- every year the city celebrates the Plano Balloon Festival and it’s held in the parks listed above. It is one of the city's largest celebrations, drawing in excess of 90,000 attendees. The festival has evolved into an important fundraiser for local nonprofit organizations.

If you are into the outdoorsy vibe, you will be glad to know that there are five recreation centers here in Plano, and two of them even have swimming pools.

Did you know that Plano Ranked 12th Best City for People with Disabilities? Factors such as accessibility of public facilities, quality of health care, or even cleanliness of the air were taken into consideration.

While you are in Plano, you should visit the Downtown Plano Arts District, a vibrant community of performing arts, galleries, event venues, and unique shops & restaurants, all set against a backdrop of historic buildings. You can also have some fun at the Heritage Farmstead Museum, a place that invites you to collect, preserve and interpret late 19th and early 20th century Blackland Prairie history while making appropriate use of the authentically restored Farrell-Wilson Farmstead, a designated historic site.

If you are a little more into nature and open-air plans, you can visit the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve,  a 200-acre park with tons of areas to enjoy walking, jogging, hiking, orienteering, and other outdoor activities. The observation tower gives a spectacular view of the city.
