There is more good news coming up about this place. The weather here is very stable, it's not extremely cold in the winter. Carrollton is considered to have a humid subtropical climate.
 
While in Carrollton you can visit the A.W. Perry Museum that will offer visitors a glimpse of how life used to be in north central Texas at the turn of the 2'th century.
 
A.W. and Sarah Perry were pioneer homesteaders of Peters Colony who came to Carrollton in the year 1844 from Carrollton, Illinois. They claimed 640 acres and built a house on this farm in 1857. In 1909, their son Dewitt Perry and his wife Francis tore down the first house and used some of the lumber to build the present-day house. This structure is now a museum. If you look closely, you'll find the foundation stones of the first Perry farmhouse in the backyard of the Museum. This is a great place to feel and live history in the front row for a moment.
 
If you are visiting with kids, or if you have a sparkly soul, you can have tons of fun and water at the Sandy Lake Amusement Park, a place that includes adrenaline packed rides, swimming pools, mini golf, paddleboats, picnic pavilions, arcades, and delicious food. Talk about a family adventure!
 
Last but not least, you can visit the historic downtown area. This place is always offering events and has two parks and a very nice gazebo.
