플로리다 주의 도시 Tampa 시는 한글로 보통 탬파 라고 표기하며 발음에 따라 템파 라고 표기하기도 한다.
플로리다 (Florida) 주 힐즈버러 (Hillsboro)군의 군도인 탬파 (Tampa)는 주에서 3번째로 큰 도시이다. 힐즈버러 강 어귀에 있는 탬파 만에 면한 통관항으로 3개의 긴 다리와 수로를 통해 세인트피터즈버그 (Saint Petersburg) 및 클리어워터 (Clearwater)와 연결된다.
겨울철 휴양지로도 유명하기 때문에 온난한 기후를 찾아 북부로부터 이주자가 많아져 갑자기 도시권 인구가 늘고 있다. 아프리카 동물들과 희귀한 열대 조류들이 다양한 쇼를 펼치는 테마공원 부시 가든 (Busch Gardens Africa), 옛 항구도시의 해적 침입을 주제로 한 개스퍼릴라 축제 (Gasparilla Pirate Festival)등은 관광객들로 성황을 이룬다.
프로 축구 팀인 탬파 베이 버커니어스 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)의 홈 구장이 있고, 고등교육기관으로는 힐즈버러지역사회대학 (Hillsborough Community College)•사우스플로리다대학교 (University of South Florida)•탬파대학교 (University of Tampa) 등이 있으며, 맥딜 공군기지 (MacDill Air Force Base)도 인근에 위치해 있다.
