Oxnard is the most populous city in Ventura County. This place is famous for access to the Channel Islands National Park, a place that preserves and protects all natural and cultural resources. 

From late December to the end of April you can take a whale watching tour that will completely blow your mind. This is the perfect way to observe the annual Grey Whale migration with front row seats. If you are lucky you might also spot some dolphins! 

If you like salsa, then you might like to find about Oxnard's Salsa Festival, a two-day celebration of everything salsa. Enjoy food, music, and dance.

Things to do in Oxnard:

If you came here looking for some sun and waves, you must visit Oxnard Beach and Park. This park has a beautiful palm tree pathway that offers incredible vistas to the pedestrians and tourists that walk by. In this area, you will find numerous amenities to have fun, like volleyball courts, barbecue areas, picnic areas, and the more obvious beach amenities like swimming and kite flying.

Also of note is precious Mandalay State Beach (also known as Mandalay Beach County Park) where you can enjoy the sun and dive in! Located between a power generation plant and one of Oxnard's neighborhoods, the protected sandy beach, dunes, and wetlands area is popular for bird watching. The fenced off area is off-limits to visitors- it's to protect nesting grounds (for the Snowy Piper and Least Tern).

If you like cars and engines, you can visit the Mullin Automotive Museum, a place where you will have a great time while enjoying the beauties that feature the collection. This place only has French cars from the prewar period, all in a very fancy art-deco style.
