켄터키 주의 도시 Lexington 시는 한글로는 주로 렉싱턴 이라고 널리 표기하지만 발음에 따라 렉싱톤 이라고 표기되기도 한다.
The horse industry has greatly influenced Lexington's culture and scenic beauty. Lexington's compact central downtown district is surrounded by historic neighborhoods. The city is not very large, but it is relatively spread out. Unless you are mainly visiting the downtown and/or the University of Kentucky campus (which are within walking distance of each other), you will find that getting around by car is the most convenient method.

This place has one of the highest concentrations of gay and lesbian couples in the United States for a city its size, so if you are here around the time they celebrate it, you need to be a part of the Lexington Pride Festival. This is considered to be a family-friendly event and they have been doing it for over 10 years. The event is so massive that they even have sponsors like Toyota and UPS. This is an experience you can't miss, even if you are not part of the community.

If you are into the festival mood, then you can also check out the Festival of the Bluegrass. This is a musical event and camping experience for the whole family. People describe the Bluegrass as a 'family reunion on steroids.'

If you are into history and politics there is no better activity than a visit to the Mary Todd Lincoln House. A place to learn all about a very important first lady. The 14-room house contains period furniture, furnishings from the Todds and Lincolns, and family portraits.  Few women in American history have endured as much controversy and tragedy- this is a place filled with female empowerment.

Here is a list of activities that we recommend if you are planning a visit:
- Triangle Park. This park in the heart of downtown features an ice rink in the winter and cafe in the summer months.
- The Kentucky Theatre: Visit this historic two-screen cinema with restored architecture and beautiful interior murals located downtown on Main Street.
- Ashland: Home of the famous Kentucky Senator, Henry Clay, located near downtown Lexington.
- Distillery District: The Distillery District has rapidly developed into a hip hot spot of independent bars, restaurants, music venues, breweries, and distilleries.
