Welcome to the Cheyenne community!

The largest sector of Cheyenne's economy is represented by the Government. Many area residents are employed by, or are dependent on, the U.S. Air Force or the Wyoming National Guard. Railroads are also still a big economic force for this city.

If you are a sports fan, then you might already know about the Cheyenne Warriors, the local football team that was founded as an American Professional Football League team in 2012 until the principal owner's death forced them to withdraw from the IFL.

If you are into landmarks, here are three you can enjoy in Cheyenne.

1. The Wyoming State Capitol was built between 1886 and 1890. The capitol contains the chambers of the Wyoming State Legislature and well as the office of the Governor of Wyoming. It was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark during 1987.

2. The Francis E. Warren Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base. It is one of three strategic missile bases in the U.S. It was named in honor of Francis E. Warren in 1930.

3. The Nagle Warren Mansion that nowadays works as a B&B. The Nagle Warren Mansion was built by Erasmus Nagle in 1888. It is one of the few remaining fine homes built during the 1880s, when Cheyenne was the richest city of its size in the world. There are tons of people who claim that the building is filled with ghosts, so stay here only if you are extremely brave. You can also plan a tour if you are too scared to spend the night here.

For a little bit of the city's story, you can plan a visit to the Wyoming State Museum. Explore thousands of years of Native American history in Wyoming, and enjoy a beautiful selection from the State Museum’s extensive collection of Native American artifacts. This gallery allows visitors to see artifacts from many eras of Wyoming's past, as well as recent donations. Wyoming is a dinosaur graveyard and the state's dinosaurs and other fossils can be found in museums worldwide. The gallery tells of fossil discovery competitions in the nineteenth century and looks at some of the state's earliest prehistoric residents.

For some cool pics, you can visit the Big Boy Steam Engine that happens to be the world's largest steam locomotive. The 4004 is one of the eight remaining Big Boys on display throughout the country.
