Fargo is a modern city on the Red River in the southeast corner of North Dakota. Many people relate Fargo to the eponymous 1996 Coen Brothers movie, though the movie was not filmed in Fargo.

Welcome to the Fargo community!
Neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota is across the river from Fargo and the area is generally referred to as Fargo-Moorhead. Fargo is the seat of Cass County.

Bus transportation is available to most parts of the city. They are phasing out tokens, so if you want a souvenir, get one now. Parking is plentiful, even on the main thoroughfares in downtown areas.

The economy here in Fargo has been dependent on agriculture historically. But of course, with time that fact has been changing a bit. Now, the city of Fargo has a growing economy based on food processing, manufacturing, technology, retail trade, higher education, and healthcare. There was a very interesting study published in prestigious Forbes Magazine that claimed that Fargo is part of the list of small cities in the USA that are great to start a business or career. This is great news in case you are looking for new beginnings.

Once you are here in Fargo, you might find tons of interesting activities to do and schedule:

Visit the Fargo-Moorhead Visitor Center to start your trip. A place with a very clear mission: to tell the world about all the great things that Fargo and West Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota offer. Three cities, two states, oodles of goodness. All located north of normal. Once you visit them you'll see that their center is far from your typical visitor center. They will recommend you to check out our Celebrity Walk of Fame and compare handprints with a quirky collection of celebrities, including Jesse Ventura, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Neil Diamond, Metallica, and more.

If you like animals or if you are traveling with kids, then the Red River Zoo is a mandatory visit. The Red River Zoo’s mission is to connect their community to nature and inspires people to help save species. Enjoy watching their amphibians, arthropods, birds, fishes, reptiles, mammals, and outreach animals.

Visit the Fargo Air Museum is an easily accessed pet-friendly, must-stop location. North Dakota’s premiere aviation destination, the Fargo Air Museum is home to aircraft of all eras – from the modern Global Hawk unmanned reconnaissance drone to the “most accurate recreation of a Wright Brothers’ flyer the Smithsonian Institute has ever seen.” A “flying” museum, many of the airplanes occasionally take to the sky, a unique feature not found in the vast majority of the nation’s air museums.

Other fun activities in the city include:
- Fargo Thunder Road. Go-kart racing, batting cages, adventure golf.
- Scheels Fargo Marathon
- KNDS Radio for Everyone a collaborative university and community radio station, that thanks to the extreme flatness of Fargo can broadcast about the whole metro area on a Low Power FM Dial.
