* Hike along an easy trail near Rosario Beach that features bluffs overlooking tide pools and kelp forests. Take time to walk the bridge to Pass Island that connects Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands.* Drive to the top of Mt Erie at 1,273 ft to take in the views of the Puget Sound.
* Explore the town of Coupeville by touring the wharf, breaking for lunch, and touring the local shops or historical museum.
* Visit this historical fort that dates back to 1897. It features a number of large batteries and was used to defend Puget Sound from invading ships. On weekends you can also climb to the top of the Admiralty Head Lighthouse.
* Walk along the bluffs with panoramic views of the Puget Sound. Closer to the forest you'll be able to explore the park's concrete gun emplacements and underground rooms.
* Take a brief stroll or hike along the bluff.
* Sail aboard one of Washington State's iconic ferries that connect the greater Seattle area to Whidbey Island. Total transit time to and back from Seattle is about four hours.
