Is chocolate a food or a technology? Why does it hold such a special place in cultures around the world? Most importantly: How do YOU like your chocolate? On this tour you'll need all your senses to help answer these questions, and there's no better place to explore the world of chocolate than the city famous for beans that give you a buzz. This 2.5 hour walking tour will fill you to the brim with chocolatey goodness. Dark. Milk. Drinking. Solid. Spicy. Bitter. Sweet. With nuts. With fruits. And the purest of the pure. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the attention that goes into each decadent bite you take. Included in your ticket price is 12 individual tastes of chocolate (keep breakfast light). We will visit 8 of Downtown Seattle's most beloved food stops so that there is a little something for everyone! We work hard to make this tour accessible to everyone, so let us know ahead of time about any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or mobility concerns.

* Pike Place Market's very own tortilleria, opened in 2021. Here we'll see how the ancient history of chocolate in Central and South America expresses itself in the modern day.
* No chocolate here worth sampling on tour, but we'll happily pause the tour for a selfie in front of the oldest running Starbucks!
* Another phenomenal bakery in the city, know for not cutting corners and making everything from scratch. Look out for their very own special recipe of Danish inspired hot cocoa.
* A wonderland of all things delicious and Italian, this grocery store located in Pike Place Market boasts the widest selection of craft chocolate bars anywhere in the city.
* On a clear day you can see 2 mountain ranges from one spot over the water of the Puget Sound.
* An African Bakery in Pike Place Market with a knack for flavors you've never tried before.
* Confess your love for.... cheesecake! There's a little something special hidden behind the counter as well, tied to the Colombian roots of founder Paul Verano.
* One of the most beloved Washington State business, Chukar Cherries has been enrobing locally grown dried cherries n European style chocolate since 1986.
* Guest diner on the "Pike Place Pickle" episode (season 10 episode 5) of Top Chef, Dale Nelson is a wizard of all things jarred. His company, Woodring Orchards, offers visitors jams, pickles, pepper jellies, honey, caramel, and of course various hand crafted chocolate sauces. Dale grows the cacao himself, traveling twice a year to Venezuela for harvest.
* Each truffle at Seleušs is tailored by a single individual, Alexander Long. He is a master of paring the right chocolate with the right add-in, whether it be fruit, honey, liquor or even tobacco. To accomplish this, Alex scours the globe for the perfect chocolate for each variety of truffle.
